mission40 is a contemporary Christian band from Bowie, MD. Although this band was founded somewhat recently in mid-2018, the members have a long history playing together in other bands. The band’s style is influenced by current trends in Contemporary Christian music as well as by secular blues, rock, and pop artists from the 60’s through to current day. The result is a unique blend of energetic, guitar driven rhythms and rich vocal harmonies. Concerts can include original songs, Praise and Worship songs, Christian rock songs, and even a few familiar secular songs from time to time.
The purpose of misson40 is threefold: To praise and worship God, and to lead others in doing the same; to share, through our music, the life-changing message of the Gospel; and to use our God-given talents to help those in need. The last of those three - and the band’s name - come from Matthew 25:40:
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
